You Will Love Texas Wine Country: Kathy Petrino

February 20, 2020

It is obvious; Kathy Petrino is one happy traveler. That said, while she likes traveling and has a strong desire to see as much of the world as possible before she is finished, thankfully for the rest of us, she loves to write about everything she sees and she also loves to post it all for everyone to see from her blog. Kathy Petrino loves to share everything and she wants everyone to have the same great experiences she has. For example, just as she loves her voyages to Texas Wine Country, she wants you to have the same experience.

While Kathy Petrino understands that people don’t usually consider Texas to be at the top of their list of wine destinations in the United States, she also think their surprise will be great enough to bring a lot of fun. The fact is, Texas has been doing a lot to improve its reputation in that area. Texas Hill Country is now growing some of the best grapes in the country and the dozens of wineries located in the area are producing some of the best varietals outside of the West Coast. They and Kathy Petrino think the region is giving Northern California a run for its money.

Kathy Petrino would love for people to drive over the Wine Road 290. That’s where win aficionados will find a wide variety of wines available, including many Tempranillos, Malbecs, and Cabernets, among others. The region features hundreds of state-of-the-art tasting rooms in which to enjoy them, but you can enjoy the area even if you’re not big on wine. As is usually the case in Texas, there are many big music and wine events all over Hill Country, including a number that combine great Texas barbecue brisket with country and rockabilly music to lift your spirits. Two of the best examples are the Kerrville Folk Festival and the Dripping Springs Wine and Food Festival.
